The Minister of Music provides spiritual, musical, and organizational leadership for the music ministry of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain. Working closely with the Pastor, the Minister of Music will support the worship and mission of the church while encouraging members to use their God-given musical abilities in service to Christ and His church.

This is a part-time position averaging approximately 10 hours per week and reporting directly to the Pastor.

• Salary: $12,000–$15,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week, with some seasonal variation.
• Vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation annually.
• Sick Time: Separate from paid vacation and handled according to church policy.

In accordance with the bylaws of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain, the Minister of Music shall:

1. Coordinate all music with the Pastor and lead congregational singing.
2. Provide leadership for special programs, including Christmas, Easter, and other special services.
3. Participate in the selection of musicians for the church.
4. Oversee and provide leadership for all music ministries of the church.
5. Plan ways for the music ministry to contribute to special missions offerings.
6. Work with members of the congregation to develop their God-given musical abilities for service in the local church.

The Minister of Music will also:

• Select biblically sound music appropriate for congregational worship and consistent with the beliefs and ministry direction of the church.
• Prepare and lead rehearsals for choirs, ensembles, instrumentalists, worship teams, or other musical groups as needed.
• Recruit, encourage, and develop church members for participation in the music ministry.
• Communicate effectively with musicians, volunteers, church staff, and ministry leaders.
• Coordinate with the Pastor in planning worship services and special programs.
• Help maintain the church's music resources and make recommendations concerning instruments, equipment, and other ministry needs.
• Model Christian service, cooperation, humility, dependability, and faithfulness.

The Minister of Music shall:

• Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and demonstrate a growing personal relationship with Him.
• Affirm and support the beliefs, mission, and ministry of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain, including the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as well as other specific belief statements listed on the church website.
• Be a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain or be willing to become a member upon accepting the position.
• Demonstrate the musical ability necessary to lead congregational worship effectively.
• Have experience or demonstrated ability in leading vocalists, musicians, choirs, ensembles, or worship teams.
• Work collaboratively with the Pastor, church staff, and other ministry leaders.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Have a desire to develop and involve people of different ages and levels of musical experience in the church's music ministry.

Formal education in music or ministry is beneficial but not required. Musical ability, ministry experience, Christian character, leadership, and overall fit with the congregation will be considered.

The position averages approximately 10 hours per week, including preparation, rehearsals, worship services, meetings, and administrative responsibilities. Hours may vary during Christmas, Easter, and other special programs.

The Minister of Music is expected to be present for regularly scheduled worship services, rehearsals, and music ministry responsibilities unless on approved vacation, sick leave, or otherwise excused by the Pastor.

The Minister of Music shall report directly to the Pastor and carry out the responsibilities of the position in accordance with the bylaws, policies, and ministry objectives of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain.
